Default Wow...

Okay, I have to stop asking questions after this.

Anyway, I finally finished up in Pre-Searing today. I explored every single area (including the Northlands, and I made a friend whilst doing this) and I did every single quest I could find. I also "completed" all the collectors I could find. Anyway, I decided to just go for it so I entered the Academy.

Wow, great experience.

Our team won the PvP battle first time round and the Grawl/Charr weren't too hard to beat. So I arrive in the Seared Ascalon and I take a quick look at my big map and...yeah, it's big. My question is, how did you guys handle the leap from Pre-Searing to Post-Searing? I thought Pre-Searing was huge but in comparison...not really. I bought new armour and stuff (and wasted all of my money on getting Bonelace) and I did a couple of minor quests, but I'm quite overwhelmed with the size of this place. Don't get me wrong though, I love exploring every single part of the map, and I love fighting, so I guess this is just shock or something.

Thanks.

I am feeling your pain

I too was overwhelmed. But the great thing is all the quests in Ascalon city really help road map the basics of the area right away. You learn very quickly where things are and get a ton of EXP doing it.

And once you hit your first mission.....the map will reveal itself VERY quickly.

I was such a newbie when I left pre-searing with my first char. I didn't even know the academy was PvP...I thought we were fighting henchies lol.

It's certainly a shock when you first expand out that map.

But don't worry, just keep doing what you've been doing, explore, missions, collectors, etc. And look forward to many days and even weeks of new and fun adventures.

I've been in post-searing for almost 2 weeks now and I have just now finished most of Post-Searing stuff and moved on to the next area (Yak's Bend in the Shiverpeaks).

The good news is you can go as slow or as fast as you like. So don't get in too big of a hurry. Enjoy yourself. Take your time and explore. I especially enjoyed seeing all the areas I knew from Pre-Sear as they are now. Such as Ashford Abbey (now a new name).

There will never be another first time.

Thank you all for your input. That link was awesome, even though I already read through it before when I was in Pre (although it meant nothing then...) and BrandonIT, you're right, there will never be another first time, which is why I hope I will be with this character for a very long time.

Thats why search and looking around first is your friend save some server space and time to retype and such

And yea. It was a good experience.. My first char entered post-searing at lvl 3 when I thought I was going for a quest lol... I ended up remaking the char.. but the academy pvp was still a thrill to me when I did it the second time, as I knew what was going on and we almost won the fight!! Took it to sudden death the last second but lost the sudden death. I had fun

When I fist started I didn't even know you could zoom out on the map. I had explored most of post-searing ascolon area (which is huge by itself) and figured I had to be getting like half-way through at least before I found out you could zoom and took a look. Very humbling.
